Time for the second review of the movies available in Blu-ray box "Forever Marilyn". The films are wonderfully converted to high definition format and it's a real joy to watch these movies again! As a whole, the box is a real tiopoängare ... although not all films really up to scratch at the moment.
A movie not only unique for its iconic head rolls holders, Marilyn Monroe. This was in fact the very first film shot in Cinemascope! The film is the opening tex willer scene was only designed to showcase the new technology for the audience. What followed was in no way as good as its opening - in other words, nothing that needed widescreen format - the film survives barely on the star shine its protagonist succeed in bringing the story. This is about the same film as Monroe starred in just before this (Gentlemen Prefer Blondes). Here we have the distinct Bacall and her buddy Monroe and Grable that transforms their New York apartment to a man trap. More like a commercial for Monroe, designed to push her career forward, than anything else. And clearly, it is Monroe himself who is the film's entire balance. Other characters, most preferably, the film's men, leaves a lot of be desired.
