Reading with a child for as little as 10 minutes a day can make a huge difference and make them better readers - this message Welsh Government's latest campaign coming on air this summer.
The campaign emphasizes that reading to enjoy and it does not have to mean just stick to books. The web pages, recipes, magazines, comics and newspapers, all of them count as appropriate reading materials.
As part of the radio campaign, the presenters discuss their favorite reading materials and emphasizes the benefits of reading to the listeners. The campaign is supported by a small bilingual journey into mystery website, which will include tips for reading with a child.
The campaign is presented here as children to libraries across Wales to welcome this year's Summer Reading Challenge which inspires thousands of families throughout Wales to participate in the activities of the UK's most read children's libraries.
"Parents, carers and family members all play their part by ensuring that children continue to develop good reading habits outside of school. Listening to a child read for as little as 10 minutes every day or talk to them about their favorite books, stories and characters make a big difference. "
